F series for sale

Hello to all,
New to the forum and want to say HEY. I am looking for a new commuter bike, well, not new, but affordable. There is an f650, a 99 model close by for $3300 It's here:
F650 Series BMW Bike. As I understand it, this may be a bit much for this model? It says it comes with a few extras, but I haven't found out what they are yet. I need opinions please. My other choice is an 04 thunderbird sport, which I rather like too, but I like the dependability of the beemer better I think. Had a 96 1100 gs a few years ago, been pining for another beemer since I got rid of it. All advice, opinions, or otherwise fowl language is appreciated.
