    Show us your oldie!!!

With the addition of this new section, I thought it would be cool to see how many of you out there own some neat old bikes. Post a pic and give us a little background on it if you do! I'll start; this is my "barn find" 1972 Yamaha XS-2, a 650cc twin, the predecessor to the 650 special. It hasn't been liscensed since 1975 and it's got 2600+ miles on it, but will soon be plated once again. I've already brought it back mechanically, and I'll have the cosmetic restore finished shortly.

Bought this one new in 1980 and just can't sell it. It's a 1980 GSX 750 ET and it's got less than 45,000kms on it.

I bought it with less than 8000 miles on it, as the original owner (a family friend) lost an arm at work and put it up in the garage- and it only took me 20 years to talk him into selling it to me LOL! The seat is from Le Pera, as I did not like the stock pogo stick seat.

Here's my everyday rider. Not sure how many miles, as there's no speedo. '73 XLCH. Built from a pile of parts for less tham $3000 including paint. First kick starter. There is something to be said for early stuff. You can ride the stuff pretty hard. I've got different pipes on it now.

Here's a shot of one of my vintage racers. Basically a HD XR-750 frame and running gear with a '69 ironhead sportster engine with a 1000cc top end, S&S super E carb and some hotrod cams and flowed heads. Also a pic of my step-son and myself.

Now that's about as unpretentious as a ride can get. Nice bike!!!

Here's my pride and joy. bought new in 1978 about to turn 20K. Sat in the garage for a while as we raised the kids.
On vacation this week, gonna take momma for a bike ride - hasn't done that in 25 yrs!
Hoping to get a new one - after all, it's been 30 yrs thinking a Harley Roadglide ($$$) or a Stratoliner.
Sorry for the dusty pics - best I have on the computer.

That's got some funky graphics on it. I had an 81 GS750E that looks almost like that. Red one though. Wish I still had it.

My 84 gpz 750 - Wish I didn't have to sell it but wife insisted after I bought my c90. Owned it for about 10 years. Put a 6 speed tranny from an 82 550 on it, Supertrapp Headers, custom paint and seat. Rebuilt the valves and had the head ground. Was getting ready to put a big bore kit in it. Nice old crotch rocket.
