There is a cable that opens the exhaust valves when you hit the starter. It sounds like it may be a bit loose.

(1) Hard starting - even when it is not cold (60-70 degrees F). I have to use my "cruise control" to open the throttle a little ways to keep it going for a minute until warm. (Dang - I miss that choke!)
(2) Gas cap cover rattles. Not the gas cap but the chrome, hinged, locked cover. Looks like it needs a thicker rubber gasket for a tight fit.
Is it just me or are these afflictions of the whole species?
Mine started to rattle at about 30,000 miles. I turned the lever that the key turns over and at 50,000 it was still good. and yes I could hear the rattle as well.
