95 Shadow Ace fuel tank
So after my dad tangled with a deer about a month ago he has no interest in even looking at a motorcycle again, so I am going to try and get it going again and try to sell it. I have most of it handled but the fuel tank has me at a stopping point. A OEM replacement is about a thousand bucks. Honestly I am not up to par with working on cruisers so any help would be greatly appreciated. I have noticed in the back of some of my co workers harley mags that there are universal fuel tanks available. Could these work on a Honda shadow, or is there any aftermarket Shadow tanks?

quick search and i found the tank for $550 online and $100 on ebay. assuming its the 750.

Nice! No it is the 1100, sorry should have posted that but that gives me hope. I have been watching Ebay pretty close, where is the 550 tank? That might be a good place to start.

I am getting closer, it is a 95 vt1100c to be exact. Something like this would work. I know a few painters so as basic as possable is what I am shooting for.

motosport.com had the 750 tank for 550ish. the 1100 tank is $1000
apparently the tank is from 95-97. altho looking at the tanks from other years there doesnt appear to be much difference other than paint jobs from 95-07. . dunno if theres a significant change.
i think that model number on the ace is the vt1100c2 which is unimportant as the c and c2 use the same tank. at least theres different fiche sets and the ace is listed as the c2 when i dug around.
here's the ebay tank:

Hey thanx for the help slozomby. I would rep or thank you if this forum had it. I have been pulling the internet red eye also. I am thinking that those ebay tanks are going to be the route I am going to have to take. I didn't get a chance to dig out the custom bike mags at work today, but I dont have much faith in that avenue.
I couldn't find much of a differance in 95-07 either. All it takes is a different paint code to give it a different part number so it is impossable for me to tell a drastic difference. Are your guys M50 tanks alluminum? My dad thinks his is steel but I find that difficult to beleive. This week end I am going over to the house and will investigate further, post pics also. He seems to think that I might be able to pull this dent out, but I don't think so.

The M50's have a steel tank, stick a magnet to the tank if it's steel the magnet will stick to the tank.

Will do that. Maybe there is hope of repairing this thing. Will post some pics this week end for some opinions.
