I bought my first bike today, a 2005 Yamaha V Star 650 silverado. The 15 mile ride home went great, but now the bike dies when I shift into gear despite having the clutch pulled in. Any ideas on why and what I need to do to get riding again?

Ok, I feel like an idiot. The kickstand was down, just went out and tried it with the kickstand up and it worked fine. Thank you.
HAD this prob before ,just had new starter clutch fitted HELP HLEP ! ANYBODY OUT THERE .
Which problem exactly........besides the problem of not being able to navigate a forum properly and put your question in the right place ???
My Suzuki makes a nasty sound sometimes when stopping the engine. I think it is because the engine turns backwards a few degrees on the final stroke.......and that there is nothing you can do to "fix" it. IIRC, my Honda does it too.
Next time please do take a minute and start your own thread........instead of jumping in on one that has nothing to do with your problem......please ??
hey down boy ! i am a newbi . anyway thanks for your replay , cheers ride safe
