Why the rear tire wears out faster....
For your reading pleasure and comment?..... found a very interesting article on tire wear patterns. Makes a lotta sense and I thought I would share. The explanations of 'scuffing' seem to explain the low miles I have been getting on rear tires anymore.....and I am gonna stop all that engine braking I do!

OK, wait........I thought that the car tire on the rear was supposed to mean that you didn't have to worry about that anymore.
Sounds to me like you need to be riding more and reading less.

Looks interesting, thanks for the info.
As much as I've tried to get lost, everywhere I went, there I was.

A good read, I can't say I agree 100% with everything but it is still interesting. I just installed a new front tire on my GSX this morning and have been gently riding for the past couple of hours to scuff it in properly. My old tire had a flat strip about 1.5 inches wide and I was beginning to have issues with low speed turns because of the flat strip. I never noticed having a flat strip on my front tires until I started using radials a few years ago. I went back to a v rated bias tire to see if the wear pattern is any different from the radial, could not tell any difference in handling so far except the steering is lighter now.

I always thought it was a combination of the rear tire being where the power meets the pavement and my relentless addiction to twisting the wick as hard as I can.

I'd say you got it in one !!
