Aftermarket Pipes
Power COmmander unit
Debadged
Saddlebags (im gonna get rid of em or replace em with larger ones)
blacked out air cleaner

it has 9000 miles on it, and costed 4300 (not a great deal, but the owner bought it in february for 4500, and did all the upgrades before deciding he wanted a harley anyway)

the only major changes i see it needing so far are a new front tire (sidewalls cracked) and a forward control kit (johns is the best right?)
come end of summer/christmas i'll probobly get a small windscreen too

any advice/tips/things to check on?

Yesterday I was riding my 06 Suzuki GS500FK6 and hit reserve. No biggie... fill up, switch back right?

Today I go out and there's lot of gasoline spilled. Turns out, when I switched off reserve to Prime, not On. Bad things happened. I definitely had gas leaking out of the carbs all over the place. At the time I didn't know exactly what the dangers were, so after cleaning up the spilled gas and letting it evaporate I tried to start it up. No-go... won't even turn over, just a click. Not a rapid click either like the battery probably being low, one solid click.

With some more research online, I read that hydrostatic locking could be a problem. Since I don't want to endanger my engine any more, I don't want to try to start it again, but I live in an apartment so I don't have a good place to do repairs nor tools to do them with. Before I call a truck to pick it up and take it to a repair shop, is there anything I can do myself to determine if it's hydrolocked? I don't even have the confidence in myself right now to take off the fairings & pull the spark plugs.

If I can at least determine it's not hydrolocked, I'll try some other stuff like just checking to see if the engine turns over when I move the rear wheel in gear, checking battery to see if it's just low, etc... If it's hydrolocked I'll probably just have it brought to a repair shop and have them deal with it. I've got it on the center stand now, just trying to figure out how to bring it back at minimal cost.

I noticed it when coming out from a restaurant for lunch, I retraced my route that day and have seen no sign of it anywhere. :(
Anybody know if a good source for used parts for these bikes? The obvious is ebay, no love there at the moment. Second options?

The jerky power is best described as power, power, power, power, power, with about 1/4 of a second gaps. I have tightened the chain and changed the spark plugs, I can't really think of what it might be.

I'm looking at buying a 2003 Kawasaki Vulcan 800. It has 49000 km (30447 mi). The bike is in good condition, except for some parallel scraping on the front fender (left side) and the ball of the clutch level. This guy isn't the original owner, and claims he doesn't know how it happened. I couldn't find any oil leaks or any indications of oil leakage. The bike has non-stock pipes, new back tire, sprocket and chain, as well as a double backrest, saddle bags and windshield. Overall the bike appears to be in good condition, and it runs well. Those non-stock pipes give it quite the growl.

He is asking $3800, but said lowest he will go is $3500.

Anything I should know about these Vulcans?

Given the year, mileage and condition, is this a good deal?

i'm thinking bout buying a Street& Steel jacket and leather vest from Cyclegear later this week. but i was wondering if anyone has had experience with their gear? i know its a Cyclegear In-House brand, like Sedici and Bilt, but other than that ive never seen alot of reviews or information about their gear.

both seem to be of decent double stitched leather, and the jacket has some heavy rubber/plastic armor inserts in the shoulders, back and elbows. and the prices are great (vest is 80, jacket is $200)

does anyone here wear their stuff? is it decent quality, or will it fall apart within a year like the Bilt stuff?

So I need to get my bike inspected soon, I've been fixing up a few things to make sure it passes so I can get my license plates. However, one of the issues is that the rear turn signals don't blink. I'm guessing the way it works is that now there is complete non-interrupted circuit going to the rear signals. What I need to get is something that causes that circuit to get interrupted hence... the blinking on/off. And that's how I would fix it, right?

If so whats this thing called and where do I get it? (Local hardware store?)

P.S. the front ones don't blink either (Idk if they are suppose to or not?) OH and is there anything else I should I worry about for inspections?
