Welcome. The first thing you should do at a forum is scan the active threads, then search for your topic. Decals have been (and are currently being) discussed quite often.
Thanks.

Welcome, skelto. That little search button can save everyone a lot of repetition... using it you'll come up with a dozen or so threads that aren't very old, all covering the same thing.

When I took my decals and emblems off the bike I was told about a nice product that is worth it's weight in gold.
It's a drill mounted wheal. It's called a stripe off wheal. It's made by 3m and it did the best job at removing the glue on the bike. No paint damage at all.
Well worth the 25 bucks for the thing.

This is a good article on this subject. Pretty much sums it up.

Why not visit a motorcycle shop and look for an adhesive removing solution? Otherwise, you can get by with helpful online catalogs available.

Keep in mind one thing, you may not be able to get EVERYTHING off, the "SUZUKI" lettering on the tank of my bike was clearcoated over, and the only way to get it off was to sand it down (which I was doing anyways, but it was a pain because it chewed up twice as many sanding discs as the rest of the tank)
