Tuesday my buddy traded in his Road King for an 08 Street Glide, he came by today and let me take it for a ride. He had them put the Power Commander and K&N filter on and map it, the bike already had Reinhart performance exhaust. The dino show 73hp and 85ftlbs torque. After a short 10 min ride, I'll give this bike a big . Maybe one day when I grow up.
I forgot to mention, it does not have a throttle cable, it's fly by wire (don't know the proper term) can't tell the difference. Also the rear cylinder cuts out during stop and go traffic to keep it from over heating.
Did he have the real low 3 or 4 inch windshield on it?
The one I test rode with the low windshield had a lot of wind buffeting when I had a helmet on, with the helmet off there wasn't any problem, but it sure bounced my head around when I had the helmet on.
He has the 4 inch windshield, a friend has a 6 inch that he is going to let him use before he spends the money on one. He and I both noticed the same thing, the buffeting seems to catch me at about the forehead and I'm only 5' 9".
The wind buffeting was in fact the reason I bought a Road King instead of a Street Glide, kind of strange because my 15 inch windshield comes to about the same height as the 4 inch shield on the Street Glide but I don't get the wind buffeting, must have something to do with the faring.
I don't know if you can see them, but my buddy had to put deflectors on the underside of his fairing, the wind was whipping around underneath and pulling his sun glasses off his face. The deflectors can open and close fully or partially, he said they eliminated the problem.
Rick,
I put the wind deflectors on my EGC and no wind. Defenlaty better then the wind issues with the C 50. I also put on a 8.5" clear view shield and the wind goes over my head and I can still see over it.

Tell him the check out Clearview Windshield with the REcurve. Everyone I know that has dealt with them has had a great experience. Also if you look at the rejects (they are perfections so if it is not perfect it does not make it) most of the time you can no find the blemish on them.
You can every try one out as they come with a protective film on it as long as it is not damaged or removed you can exchange for a different size or style.

Also good to know.
I like the shorter 15 inch shield I have on my Road King, it also allowes me to see over it, but I do seem to get more noise comming up under my helmet.
The thing that's kind of strange is that the more coverage the helmet has the more noise I get, if I wear a halfshell (benie) helmet the noise isn't an issue at all, if I wear an open face helmet there is a slight noise problem, but whan I wear a full coverage helmet I need to wear ear plugs or I will get a head ache. This isn't wind noise, it's comming from my not all that loud aftermarket exhaust.
