Rae, I missed your comment when you said it, but Pete repeated it later on, and always got a good chuckle.

When you ride the Dragon in a big group (2 big groups) like we did that day, you get to miss out on a lot of the B.S. that might otherwise happen to you if you are there by yourself.

First off you don't have to put up with the faster riders (some of which are jerks) that come up behind you wanting to pass, that can be nerve wracking because there never really is a good place to let them by, but when they encounter a big group like that most don't even try to pass.

Next, you are kept to a slower pace because the leader is trying to keep everyone together.

Also you are basically just following the rider in front of you , and you get this mindset kind of like "well they just rode it so I guess I can"

But all that aside, I know you didn't have a whole lot of miles under your belt at that time, and you did real good, and I think is was a good choice for you to ride your own bike rather than passenger behind Pete, I'm sure it did a lot for your confidence.

    Decision made; deal done.
It's a 2009 Electra Standard and now I can't wait for the snow to melt and the riding to begin.
Thanks for the very interesting and often amusing posts.
I'll submit photos when I take delivery; added a couple of extras just to spice it up.

Thanks; looking forward to the first ride on it

We still have over a foot of snow on the ground and temps that are ridiculously cold so I had to leave it in storage but the first day above freezing without snow and ice and I'm on the road. I couldn't get the photo to load but will try it later.

I thought they used to only come in black a few years ago
when I was looking at one. Maybe I'm wrong.

    Leonidas:
Thanks for the review; interesting and I'm anxious to test mine against what he wrote; I didn't get the cruise control but may consider it at a later date.
Now if all this snow will just melt and the temps get up above 40F I can take that first ride.

I bought my Road King with out the cruise control too, they wanted a little over $600 for it, $300 for the unit, and $300something to install it, I waited till I had a 20% off coupon and bought the unit for $240, and installed it myself in about 2 and a half hours.

If you have ever replaced a set of handlebars you can do the install yourself, the hardest part is replacing the controls on the end of the bars, the rest of it's plug-n-play.

Stratoliner/Roadliner PCIII or Fuel Processor or Fuel Box

Good morning bikers, I am looking to get my Stratoliner equipped with the right parts for a bit of the real power that is available with that nice 113 in. V-Twin. Any combination you might have tried or read about would be a good post. I just finished a nice 335 mi. road trip around the So. Ca. Desert area. The bike now needs a bit of exhaust note to my ears, and the right parts to keep the bike from popping on deceleration. Also the stock Stratoliner windshield, I have found to be something I might change, any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks Charlie.........

Welcome chazzei1 I don't have an answer for your question, but I have a suggestion, this post is an old post that most members have already checked out if they had an interest in it baised on the opening question, so most of them won't be checking it again, and won't be seeing your question, so you might have better luck if you were to start your own post.

It also helps us to remember who you are, what you ride, and where your from if you have your profile filled out.
