had one (an 84 specifically) and too late I learned that you can't rev these bikes up as they have insufficient oiling of the valve cams at high speeds.

otherwise, they are pretty tough bikes.

Sorry to correct you, but the top end oiling problem was atlow RPMs,
not high. It helps to keep the RPMs up. There are top end oiling kits available
too.
I have owned 4 V4 Hondas-an '84 700 Interceptor with 26,xxx miles;
and 85 500 Interceptor with 24,xxx miles; and '84 V65 Maga with 46,xxx miles
and the one I ride now-an '83 v65 Magna with around 28,000 miles.
the cams all looked perfect on each bike, and I had no top end oiling
kit on any of them. Some do, some don't I guess. Maybe I was lucky.
