    Yeah, you might be right about the shop visit Easy Rider. And by "tuning the carbs" i meant that I used vacuum gages to adjust the throttle stops on each of the carbs. Thanks for all the help! I'll post any solutions I come accross.

    That's called a carb SYNCronization, not a "tune".

    When you pulled the carbs apart to clean and put back together, did you put the springs for the throttle linkage in the right place?

    Got ya, carb sync, not tune.

    And yeah, the springs are in the right place. (I was real careful to check with the parts breakdown in the shop manual.)
