So my 4500 mile service is comming up and I get free tires for life through my dealer. I was talking to the sevice and parts guys and I can get any tires I would like so I need some help, does the metzler 200 fit the back of the M50? Or are there any other suggestions?
Thanks for you time
Merritt
I hate the stock tires on my M50, would love to have a radial, crotch rocket type tread tires on my bike, but nobody makes a radial in the M50 tire size.
i PM'ed Nateinc a couple times back in october and didnt get any replies. wanted to hear how everything is going with the wider tire. dont think he is around here anymore.
i know the clearance is going to be TIGHT at the swingarm / shaft drive....but as long as it is clear is all i care about...ive been planning to do this ever since i got the bike.... i may just order the rear now! (front should last quite a while longer no? )
im at 7700 miles, tire should be good for a while longer....dont want to just waste good rubber.

yup...hence my pm's to him. i was in touch with him a lot back then, and then communication just stopped and he stopped posting.
i am interested in wear patterns after a couple thousand miles...make sure it isnt cupping or wearing odd patterns due to being wider than originally intended
I don't... got about 4.5k on them now and still have over half the tread left. I think it's just the allure of the 200 that makes me want to switch them out.
Yep 4500 is about all i am going to get out of the rear tire (IRC) Plus that is the earlyist that I can get Free new tires. I have done a hand full of burnouts, but nothing crazy
Alright well i just got off the phone with the dealer and the tires are ordered and the should be on the bike by next friday!!! I got the
ME-110-14018-ME 880 Marathon XXL 200/70HB $165.87
ME-110-10408-ME 880 Marathon 130/90H-16 $97.97
Dealer is paying for them b/c that was the deal when I bought the Bike "free tires for life" so pretty happy about that.
I have on order custom LED turn signals (zuki-dude/S2 inspired) so all of this sould be on the bike by friday the 6. I will take before and after pics if you would like to see it

I would be interested in knowing what the difference in weight is. Our bikes arn't exactly monsters in the H.P. department. My experence with bicycles is that for every pound of rotational weight you add, it's like adding 25 pounds to the bike itself. Maybe motorcycles arn't affected quite as much, but I do know some M X riders that use the lightest tires, wheels, and chains that they can get for this very reason.

The fact that you get new tires for the life of your bike is great. A dealer that will buy you better, bigger tires at 4500 miles is amazing. Where did you buy your bike? I might have to get my next one there. I will wear out the tires just driving back and forth to get new ones.

well, thats if you are concerned with speed....if you are, should be riding a sportbike or at least a VTX1800 or RoadWarrior....its all about looking good baby!

If I did the math correctly the 200 is about 1.3 inches wider that the 170 I don't think I would trade out good rubber for that.
I noticed every new Suzuki in the Dealers showroom has cheap, generic tires, my M50 came stock with the cheap Max tires, thats how Suzuki keeps the price down on the new bikes.
