    Rotella Synthetic Oil

Quick question! I want to change my oil to Rotella Synthetic 5W 40. Is this motorcycle specific? I have searched and it is not advertised motorcycle oil. Am i suppose to be looking for something specific?

It works just fine in motorcycles. I use it and the Rotella 15W-40 dino oil in both the M50 and a Rebel250. Pretty much as long as the spec doughnut on the bottle has nothing in the bottom half, you're good to go. No energy conserving additives is the key.

In my opinion the absolute best is Amsoil...but damn it's expensive.

I went looking for it yesterday and couldn't find it. So I had to settle for Mobil 1 Full Synthetic for motorcycles.

There is oil designed for motorcycle wet clutches.
If you use anything else your asking for clutch problems at some point down the road.

Bought me a gallon of rotella at walmart. How much does the m50 use? I will also be changing out the filter.

Just don't get a Fram filter-not free flowing enough for the M-you'll hear lots of engine noise if you do, trust me.

keep us abreast what other "lower grade" filters will cause engine noise.

me, I drive an old Yamaha, I don't think it has a "die" mode.
Couldn't put "fail" across Lolo's picture, but she did come in 4th in the 100 m hurdles - still one heck of an effort.

Don't dump in the whole jug, it's like 3.5 quarts or something close to that.

The M50 uses exactly 3 qts. and 19 Oz. (3.6 qts.)when changing oil and filter. After running the bike for couple of minutes to fill the filter, let it sit for a couple minutes. At that point the oil level should be mid window. It will come closer to the upper mark when fully warmed up.
