After reading the loooong thread and seeing all the issues with 05 and 06 bikes, I'm a bit scared. I have an 05 with almost 40k and a big trip through the Canadian Rockies coming up, so I've ordered the parts and will replace everything just to be sure. $200 in parts and an afternoon of working on the bike should be fun anyways

my 2009 M50 custom had 15K miles at end of November 2011. Same deal. Driveshaft made awful metalic grunching noises after a brief stop-over to warm myself on a cold ride. Towed home for free (AMA membership). Mechanic discovered no lubrication in coupler section; full of rust. All scheduled maintence has been performed on time. This problem cost $$$ to repair.

Another 2009 down. As more riders rack up the miles, we'll no doubt hear more similar stories. Suzuki needs to connect the dots.

Welcome to the Hideaway, Cindi. Sorry to hear you joined the driveshaft club, but stick around now that you're here. Good info available.
