I just found a nail in my rear tire. What would be the best option for repair, leave nail in and drive to shop (after pumping it back up), pull the nail and plug it with a tire repair kit? Are these repair kits recommended for motorcycle tires?

I went to Wal-Mart & bought a repair kit, pulled the nail, plugged the hole, aired the tire & rode cautiously to my dealer to have a new tire put on . Wouldn't dare take a chance on continuing to ride on a patch. I hear that some people do but I'm not one  !
