    Suzuki JR50 how to start?

    Ok, don't laugh but a friend's kid just bought this old jr bike off ebay and it is a piece. That said he is 11 and we are trying to figure this thing out.I am a car guy and not a bike guy so......here goes..... I see the oil tank on the side and it seems to fill down into the crankcase then there is tube coming out the bottom of the "carburetor" that looks to need a hose and is now leaking oil. Also a tube coming out the top of crankcase .....oil injector? but is not attached to anything. Any ideas would help Thanks,

    It's a four-stroke, so there's no oil injector. The line off the carb might just be a vent that's seeping some sludge, or you're looking at the bowl drain.

    NOT a 4 stroke!!! JR50 is a 2 stroke!!!

    Oil injected 2cycle, the tank under the seat is for the 2stroke oil. There is a pump and metering system in the right side caseing that feeds the oil to the intake tract in the cylinder, it does not hook to the carb.

    My mistake. Thanks for the correction. Are the modern 50s all fours?

    Most of the new 50's you see are based on the Honda Z50 engine, you know all the China clone's etc.

    but the JR50 has always been the same bike, they almost never changed anything except body work that is. The same piston is used on a 1978 JR50 as on a 2006 Jr50! Might be noted that the Kawi KDX50 uses the same piston as well
