    2008 C50T Boulevard no power/no start

Hey yall. Got an 08 Boulevard. I made the mistake of putting a upgraded headlight bulb in my bike (not sure if this was the cause) and it started twice, once to go to work, once to get home. Went to start it this afternoon to go to work, the starter cranked the motor about half a crank and everything cut out. Now, When I turn the key I get no lights anywhere, no fuel pump, no start...nada, nothing.

I just got home from work, pulled it apart. Checked ALL fuses...the big ones up top and the 10-15amps down below. All were gtg. Battery had 12.8 volts. Checked voltage across main relay, had 12.8 coming across. I checked the headlight bulb I put in and it looked like it had been soldered on the tip. Ya know that frosted stuff on the tip of the bulb? well, that stuff was like flaked off, like it had been baked off. So, obviously that got hot and I know something got fried.

Question is, what got fried? I looked down every harness I could, took apart every connection ( I had the bike apart pretty good) that I could and didnt see any evidence of heat, burn, short or anything. All fuses good and NO power anywhere.

    Can somebody please help?
    Thank you!!!!

Did you try changing the highlight bulb back? If there is a massive short in the new one, it could be draining all your juice. Not a mechanic, but just a thought.

Will follow up in the OTHER thread that you started.
PLEASE do not put the same question in more than one place.
It just gets confusing that way.
    Thanks.
Don't believe everything that you think.

Oh yeah sorry about that...I didnt mean to cause a potential for confusion. I just have a different kind of issue now. Before I was asking the location of the fuses, and what the fuses were rated at and if I could up the rating.

Now, I am stumped completely. Usually I have an idea of what to check next but, not this time.

So, here I am. Stock bulb back in the bike. No fuses are blown, anywhere. Battery voltage is 12.8, voltage across relay is 12.8 (main relay under saddle)

Ok, so...I feel like an idiot (maybe i am one?). I am ONLY posting this as a reminder to others. So, I checked all the fuses and connections however, I guess I didnt check the BATTERY cables good enough!!! WOW

So, go ahead and tighten the cables down even if you think they are tight....can save you some frustration and time!

    Have a great day

It's always a relief to find a cheap fix.
As long as it's not them that has to pay, no one really minds the debt.
