Thanks Guys. Do love them and yes a bit more HP. Has a Chevy 327 bored out 30 over. Had 3 deuces on it but took them off and added Fuel injection (more HP) but less trouble for my Dad running it around in Tennessee.
I grew up in Holstein, IA then went to School in Minnesota and came back to practice in Schaller, IA. Left in 1996 for 2.5 years in Durban South Africa and then back to Schaller. Now in Perth for the last 8 years and loving it. Do miss the seasons but not the cold. Can ride every day of the year here. Hardest decision is if you are not riding the bike is do I put the top up on the convertible because I might get too much sun or just leave it down and drive faster.
QZephyr where are you in Iowa? Near the Northwest? Just got my 2002 Suzuki Volusia here and loving it. Bet you love your boulavard.

Sioux City, lived here my whole life. I regret not getting my own bike sooner, I like the looks and the ride. The winter is coming and I'm not burned out on riding yet this season, so I'm doing some mods to keep busy.

Well neighbour we grew up in the same vicinity. Being from Holstein (just 50 miles east) we had to go to Sioux City to shop and get anything else. Menards was a must. I worked with several of the orthpedic surgeons there also. Loved growing up there and living there but now glad to be in the sunshine. I learned that you can live without snow and cold. Just plan got tired of scooping all of that snow. the winter is a good time to tinker. that is when I did most of the stuff on the truck. What are you changing on your bike? I am looking at some mods on my Volusia and tinkering with it till my harley gets here.

Just got a Saddlemen Explorer with backrest yesterday and I got a great deal on a new open box oem windshield. I bought aftermarket smoke turn signal lenses but they don't fit well so I may look into a different option. I look out for deals that are good for the off season. I'm tempted to put the seat on today it's supposed to get in the 60's.

Aren't you having Thanksgiving or just need a job to burn off some of the turkey or better yet escape to the garage to get away from the relatives. Let me know what you think of the seat. My parents are coming from Tennessee to Perth for December and bringing me some saddlebags and a new face for my speedo. Had to add a chrome radiator guard also. Hope to put them on in 2 weeks when they get here. I have to run up to Tokyo to meet them there and than bring them down to Perth. Still looking for a sissy bar for my bike for the wife. Not sure what to get. Do you have one?
-
No my wife has a Burgman 400 and all I would use a sissybar for would be to keep things from falling off for road trips. Back when Karen was 20, she was almost killed as a passenger on her boyfriend's bike so being a passenger is out. I want to get nicer bags than the seller gave me and possibly a tail bag. We talked about road trips but Karen doesn't want to leave our dog with anyone. We don't have kids so she's pretty attached. She's a good dog. I really want to do a trip though. A couple years back we bought a pair of Burgmans and bought micro type travelling gear to go travelling and camping. I'll be selling my Burgman in the spring along with a couple scooters we used to get street smarts. I'm a good pedal biker so I only had to get used to weight. I did some cool things with my Burgman, but in the end I just got tired of the crap I took for not having a real bike. I want to ride today because it could be the nicest day left until spring. They're predicting 62 and then 50's and lower from there. I let you know on the seat. I may not install it today but I looked at it and the quality is great. Then I might get the Saddlemen bags that would quick release so I can still keep the sporty look for around town. The 400's have the largest trunks in the scooter catagory so I miss having that available. When I'm done I want my bike to be unique. I'll post pics as more upgrades are done. Did you see my clock and thermomter pic? Catch you later.

Pic ya up a sidehack.

I was going to suggest that also but if you want saddlebags that are quick release so you can keep that sporty look this will crimp your style (mine also though I would love an old bike and side car someday). My new saddlebags, some chrome and speedo face will be here next week. My folks are coming to Perth from Tennessee and bringing them over with them. Will post picks soon.

What bags are you getting?
-
I will have to look them up. I can't remember and late and tired from the trip. Will let you know and post some pics.
I did not go with high end ones as the sun here in Perth ruin anything but plastic but didn't want to go with them. will see how they come out. Just got them here in my folks luggage.
