Old Newbie from Texas
Howdy from north Texas!
I have a sad, familiar tale. I rode a bike in college, then got married, got responsible and haven't ridden in 30 years. Now I'm ready to go again. Took the MSF course in November and getting ready to pick up my '07 Suzuki M50. Fortunately the weather should be decent this weekend. Don't worry, I'll be taking it really easy for a while until I get a feel for things again.
I've seen several from this area posting. So maybe I'll see you around somewhere.

Howdy from west Texas, I also have an 07 Suzuki M50.

When I got married my wife told me she would divorce me if I bought a bike. Seven and a half years later I got my '07. She's still here.

A neighbor! Hope you enjoy your new ride. I quit for about 10 yrs and started back riding in 02. Can't make up for lost time but it sure adds to the enjoyment of every ride now. Hope it does the same for you.
Have fun and ride safe

Thanks for the warm welcomes. I'm hoping to pick up the bike today - IF they ever get all the financing paperwork right.

Don't forget to post pics.

Did get the bike today. Rode it around the dealership area for about 20 minutes to aclimate, then onto 75 for the trip back to Allen. Already wishing it had a 6th gear. Supposed to be rainy around here the next couple of days. I'll get pics when I can.

Update time: Did not get to ride this weekend, but did last. Spent about 45 minutes, riding around the lot at the local high school - just practicing turns and such. For some reason, I have a more difficult time performing a right-hand U turn then one to the left. I just can't seem to get it done in the same space.
After the practice, I rode around area some, including some back roads that that are about as twisty as things get here in North Texas. Got my first waves from other riders. Also scraped the pegs a couple of times.
As requested, I've attached a couple of picks. Pretty stock right now in basic black.

Ride safe and beware the green box.

Basic black is why we love 'em and that's a little better than stock. Real nice buddy, ride safe.

Thanks. Now if it would be warm on the weekends. I think I need more practice before trying to ride to work around here. Not to mention it would be a bit chilly adding the wind chill at 40 F.

M-J Lifetime Achievement Award
Enjoy the bike for what it is - having driven some, I recommend against putting many mods on it
That's what your next bike is for.
