Somehow, I don't feel so bad about being on a skeleton crew at work all of a sudden.

and for next week - another skeleton crew and half the guys will be laid off for a full month.

........and if you ask me, probably for weeks 5 and 6 too, I don't see our business picking up that quickly.

but at least the plant isn't closing........... it's privately owned, paid for, and all we have to do is not bleed red ink.

I have a rant, today, and it has been eating at me since yesterday. How many of us knew that we had 3 young men KIA in Balad, Iraq, Monday. They were killed by small arms fire. They were members of the 1st Cav Reg., attached to the 1st Brigade, 25th Division. I know because my son is in the 1-25. I read 1 small article with little info, on Monday. I have not seen anything since.

What happened did the F$#%*N new media forget we had troops in harms way in Iraq. Or is it just not that big of a F$#%^@G news story that we had 3 Army Soldiers killed in a shoot out. I guess it is no big deal to the media that 3 families are grieving the loss of a loved one. Please don't tell me that there are bigger stories, bailing out banks, car companies and such. I think I would go postal.

I know I'm a little too close to the subject. But can someone please tell me why they are not reporting these things. It's just not right.

    Jay

I think the press starting playing a different tune when more media types were slaughtered in Iraq than in gulf war 1, vietnam, Korea and WW 2 combined.

    BOOOOM!! BOOOOOM!! BOOOOOOM! B-B-BOOOOOOOOMMM!! (repeat)

Yes, it's probably what your thinking. Here we are sitting trying to get work done, hold meetings with clients, and run a professional business. But what do we get to hear all morning here in ghetto paradise???!!! BOOOM! BOOOM!! BOOOOM!!

Go outside and gaze upon the ghetto hooptie of some outdated run down car with rims bigger then my truck and a radio system that cost more then my truck.

And what makes this even better is that there is a brand new car wash a stone throw up the road from us. So whats the new hang out?? Yup... and what do we get to hear? Yup.... does this make me mad enough to wish I could start throwing grenades? Youbetcha!!!

Toss a few out the window, nobody will hear the explosions anyway. In fact, toss them in a cadence, forming some sort of song. They will think you have a killer system too.

Don't even get me started on this. What's worse is that the Ghetto music is just as easily heard out in the cow/horse/country land that I live in. You just can't get away from it. I hate it & the life style that it promotes!

It boils down to a simple lack of respect that this generation seems to enjoy not having any of. Being loud, unruly, obnoxious, disrespectful and selfish is the theme for most of the younger generations. Now I know I am talking like an old fart now but anyone with an eye and ear can easily see that this disregard for others is more prevalent now then ever before.

    I agree.

Now I will crank up my hard rock music from time to time. But I always turn it down at lights or in small towns. Also rock music doesn't have the annoying bass only stuff going on. I don't care what you music anyone's personal taste is but have respect for others.

What I hate the most is when junior Ghetto Boy pulls up the gas pump with windows down & door left open & the loud bass and the "F" word and B*tch word blaring for me my kids and everybody else to enjoy. I want to go over there and take the keys out of the ignition and throw them on the roof. But I also don't want to get shot in front of my kids so we all grin & bear & hate it at the same time! Again I despise what that lifestyle promotes! It's more than just music, it's an attitude.

I LOVE thundersnows! Used to get them all the time up in the mountains of Colorado, and I'd be sitting there thinking, "only in Leadville".

Hope you don't mind that I turned your frown upside down there...
