    Prayer before riding?

I was just curious if you all say a prayer before heading out on a ride. I usually will start my ride with just a quickword to clear my mind. I was given a medallion before a ride we did at the Blue Ridge that said "God Bless This Bike"
and if I forget I will usually see it at some point and remember to say a quick prayer. Not wanting to get into a big religious debate, I was just wondering.

Absolutely. I work in a job where I see a lot of bad things happen to both motorcyclists and cagers. I say a short prayer almost every time I turn the key to leave the house.

I use the old test pilot / astronaut's prayer

"Please, please, Lord, don't let me screw up."
Couldn't put "fail" across Lolo's picture, but she did come in 4th in the 100 m hurdles - still one heck of an effort.

Lifetime Catholic but I can't say I say one BEFORE I go riding. I DO inevitably tend to say a few WHILE riding tho.

I do not pray before riding.

I do check my bike to make sure it's sound (tires, oil, lights, fuel), then wear good protection (helmet, jacket, gloves, pants) in the event of a crash.

I also keep my eyes open while riding and find these things together work at least as good (if not better) than any prayer I can think of.

    Very nice.

I certainly have some 'thank god' moments but try not to make a habit out of it.
