Yeah, I'd also be interested in anybody's experience with this company. For my '03 Marauder 800, they're 2/3 the cost of State Farm.

Out of curiousity, I ran a quote on my bike using the same coverage I have with Progressive. Bikeline's rate was $110 a year higher. Think I'll stick with Progressive.

It's amazing the differences in cost you can come up with for the same coverage. For me ('03 Marauder 800), Bikeline wants $243 a year for full coverage. State Farm (my current insurer) costs $379. Progressive quoted $640. Just the opposite of your experience.

i got quoted $396/year for the M50 from State Farm. It should go down just a little for having passed the MSF course. Cant remember what all the details are, but 10k body i think and $500 deduct. Is there any thoughts on exactly what kind of coverage to get and how much deduct based on motorcycle costs for damage?

Hillsborough County (Tampa) is in the top three counties (highest cost that is) in the country for car insurance though. Im 32 so that is the lowest bracket a guy can be in.

According to my agent, State Farm does not give a discount for the MSF course.

As far as required coverages, I go with the statutory minimum for my bikes. For collision/comprehensive, it just comes down to how much you're able to pay out of pocket for repairs. It's really sort've a Catch-22. If you carry a high deductible (like $1000) you'll spend more out of pocket if you wreck. On the other hand, if you carry a low one (like $250) and submit some claims, your premium will go up fast.

I have Bike-line full coverage on my '05 C50 and liability only on my '94 Concours ZG1000. My annual charge total was $240. They do discount for multiple bikes and passing an MSF class in the last three years. Other factors are similar to car insurance. Being a bit older with a clean driving record and the above discounts help me. I like Progressive for my car insurance, but Bike Line is a bit less moolah for my cycles' coverage.

You should go with Progressive. They offered me the cheapest insurance rate at $1,600 a year with a $1,000 deductible. Funny how a 20 year old with a clean license pays this. (sense my sarcasm).

If I was even paying 500 a year I would be ****z and giggles.

Come to think of it; next season when I am shopping for insurance can I have my parents toss it onto out existing plan? We are currently using All State and my parents registered my car there and I pay them what my car costs (this saved me about 3,000 dollars; no lie). I pray to God that I could someday pay for cheap insurance and not have to pay month to month and cancel and re-insure every 6 months. It sucks and the DMV makes it worse! Surrendering plates.......paying downpayment on insurance, plus I was fined over $90.00 for canceling my policy before a one year period. But hey the $90.00 dollars was cheaper than paying abother 143 dollars a month for crappy insurance. What I like to call stalemate while getting f'd in the azz.

Thumbs up Grinnin' & Riddin' On The Cheap!

I've priced both Progressive and BikelinE and went with Progressive; half the cost of BikelinE! Of course my wife and I are both old farts with clean driving records and good credit ratings. So we're able to insure both bikes Mid-level Liability and Property Damage, $250 deductable on Comp and Collision and 24 hour Roadside Assistance for $216 a year. Eat your hearts out kids!

True dat.. my other insurer (ALFA) covers both my cages and my house, but they don't insure bikes (boats, motors & trailers-yes.. bikes-no.. go figure). So I priced a number of others before going with Progressive, which used to insure my cars several years ago. I plugged exactly the same coverage into bikeline as I have with progressive, including $250 deductable on collision and comprehensive, and $1000 worth of equipment/custom parts coverage (which, btw, is included at no charge when you get comprehensive/collision with Progressive), and my totals came up as $207 with Progressive and $317 for bikeline. (Yes, being 40 with a clean record does have advantages). Only diff between the 2 is Progressive didn't ask about MSF training and bikeline did. Since I didn't put that in on Progressive, I didn't check that box for bikeline. Maybe that'd bring it down some, but would it bring it down $111?
