I did 110 mph on my gs500 once when I was a stupid 19 year old. I don't ever go over 70 now. Usual limit here is 60.

I've investigated too many needless motorcycle fatalities related to the motorcyclist going too fast. The rider might be adequate for the speed, but there are millions of countless car drivers out there that can't be counted on to look out for anything other than their next incoming text message.

To go fast is a right easily purchased in cheap hp. Seems it is a right given to every red blooded individual who wishes to do so. Should the Romans have said you could travel no faster than thier horses even if you could afford a taller faster horse? Should the US government stopped the Wright Bros from their fools errand in Kittyhawk because nobody else could match it? Man has always aspired to go faster - higher - further. It is the nature of man after all, or so those inspirational join the USAF poster have led me to believe.

Your right to speed ends with the reckless endangerment of others. Now I do accept that persuing the dream on publicly maintained roads comes at a risk of losing the right to travel on said roads. That gamble is half the fun isn't it? It is at heart the origins of all motorsport. To gamble your safety and health or life against your abillities and your equipment. There are however cheaply available alternatives where you are permitted to go as damn fool fast as you have the testicular fortitude to maintain. Consider your local track or strip. Nevada has the Silver State challenge.

Consider also that speed is realitive. What was once absurd "riding above the tonne" is now a part of my daily commute. Not that I am any better of a rider than those early pioneers of speed. I simply have a more competant machine beneath me. Rolly Free would have gladdly sailed to 350 mph if only he had a machine so capable and so well planted.

To go fast is not a right it is an imparative of man. Jim you have the right given by the Gods of Internal Combustion to go as fast as your nerves, creativity and wallet can allow.

just under 160 on my 1200 Bandit. quite the rush, but the more i think about it, just a bad idea all around. We have an abundance of deer in this area, n hitting one on two wheels shud be impossibly messy, even at 60.
Besides, someone told me most stock tires are only designed for 120mph

Every day when we sit on bike we are taking chance to not back home , not becouse we are driving fast, we could go 40 and other retard behind , front or incoming car hit you and kill you in any moment.
I drive in mountains over 200km/h and...? We all have one life use it for some awesome adrenaline things not to %%%% around how others are bad.I`ve got 2 bikes one is driving my girlfriend (Honda CBR900RR Fireblade 1992) and other one me (Ducati Streetfighter S 2011) and im not driving fast becouse she cant catch me then so mostly when im speeding im speeding alone, She can catch me with Honda but she doesnt want to go fast i mean she scares .So i had problems with car drivers and i`ve been on judgement and i`ve been guily and been in prison for 2 months becouse i kick one retard ass and drop him from %%%%ing car (mostly i dont fight and im trying to avoid it) but this retarded guy was flaming me and all the time swearing about my mother so i drop his face on wheel and kick him from car.So i hope you dont have problems like i had but most of the crashes are caused by cars not by us,some ppl are saying damn motorcyclists speeding blabla im not saying that we are best ones, but ppl are not understanding our love , ofc there are dirks who drive bike becouse they think they will get famous, get some nice butty shake asses on their bikes or so.I never planed to drive bike and now i do,i never planned to met a girl who drive bike but i do...
    remember

Every time you leave your garden on ur bike u have chance to not back to home, think on ur family,friends...
