Thanks brother! Well, with the new found information, I'm assuming their weights are pretty close to the same, this one would be a tight race.

I think it would depend on the race. A drag race, a road course that is tight and slower, a fast road course,... The bikes are too different and it would depend on the race and race conditions.

these are kind of big bikes for racing on a track (chicanes and all) aren't they?

That depends on who is riding.

On that note, on the street, it would depend so much more on the rider who has the biggest,,,, naughty bits,,, than any real differences in power or handling. The same could be said for a typical trackday. Ultimately, just keep an eye on the racing scene, more towards the production classes than superbike.

I can remember reading an article (back in the day) comparing the gsxr 600, 750, and 1000 (the big boy at the time).

The general consensus was the 750 turned out to be the "just right one" as a matter of combination of power and agility.

years later, I test drove a 750 and quite frankly, except for the uncomfortable seat and cramped sitting position, the bike was kind of fun and actually fairly easy to drive.

    Assuming you weren't pushing it.

I gotta give it to the Duc. It's lighter and really only gets outperformed in HP. Does matter in which sort of race, but overall i think the Italians take it.
