This is a discussion on Is a 1985 CB125S worth $500? within the Sportbikes & Sport-tourers forums, part of the Bike Talk category; Bike is in great shape, has 1500 miles on it, but hasn't been started in 15 years. I don't know what I'm goin to run ...
odds are you can get something that runs for not much more.
In my opinion, no.
Not if you are looking for something to ride.
IF......it was a scarce model that is "collectable" and you were doing it just for a project.....then maybe.
Maybe, with only 1500 miles it should be a runner with a li'l TLC.
Ask the owner if you can fool around with it to see if you can make it run.
Probably just needs a battery and fresh gas and oil along with a good carb cleaning.
I had one of those for a while, also had an SL 100,pretty reliable little bikes and simple to work on.
check if the engine at least turns over - if that's the case, then there's at least a good 40% chance you can get it running and usable.
Failing that, you should be able to turn around and sell it for about what you paid for it.
