So I had a problem with my saddlebags flying up while on the freeway. Instead of putting a 20 pound sack of potatoes in each one, I tried to figure out a way to get them secure.
I came up with the following.
I got a set of large cotter pins.
I opened the pin and attached it to the metal guide behind the bags...
Then lined it up and poked it through the leather and supporting corrugated plastic inside, then placed a heavy duty washer on, and opened the cotter pin. Viola! Secure, yet easily removable. Cost me only 2 bucks for the cotter pins.
