hello, I have been riding my 1980 kz750 ltd since june2011. This is my first bike and I must say it is slightly souped up.
I have a 4-1 exhaust,
The dynojet stage 3 may be a little much for these kiehins, but the modified airbox with k&n stock replacement filter makes a really seem like it is rich.(sounds chunky though).
I am buying pod filters.
the only way that I know of to check the mixture is the plug color. without spending too much money:madd: is there a way to test the mixure at home while it is running?:leg2:lus1:
Reading the plugs is one of the best way to tell if you have the carbs correct, at least for the home mechanic. I suggest you might want to check the "pod filters", very difficult to get an inline 4 to run properly using pods, especially if the bike has CV carbs. Stock air box and filter will usually perform much better than pod filters.
thank you for your input, the pod filters do not work well with vacuum slide carbs, how could I be so misled. it would be nice to have the stock rubber intake boots also, as they are somewhat shaped like air horn/velocity stacks.
