Question Rectifier and regulator problems with 1979 GS750 E

I have a bad rectifier and the regulator is good. This model(E) has a separate rectifier and regulator, unlike the L model where the two are all in one unit. I cant find just the rectifier so I was wondering if I could replace them with the combined rectifier and regulator. Any suggestions?

If you have to ask.......then YOU probably can't do it.
You need a wiring diagram, a meter and some electronics theory experinece.
But, armed with all that, you might be able to rebuild the rectifier too.

Then I'm wondering, with a bad rectifier, how you KNOW that the regulator is good ??

Maybe someone here knows more about it than I do.............or maybe you can find an after-market company that makes units for that model along with instructions.

If you can find the two I would be buying them...after all the bike is almost 33 years old and so is the regulator...assuming its the original...and that will fry eventually.
