Marauder clutch question

I am replacing my 02 vz800 clutch with a barnett teflon plates and vesrah springs setup.Springs on back order. Anyway as I was taking it apart and being carefull I did not pay close enough attention to how the 8 bolts go in. I have them in the order they came out. As it is one longer then a shorter and it continues like that thruogh the 8 of them. My question is do the longers go to the clutch wieght housing or do the longs go to the aluminum casting. Can not believe I missed this ,but any help would be grat. I have the haynes book but it does not even show my clutch setup or the bolt assembly description prior to removal. Also is 10/40 full syn oil ok with the new barnett plates. thanks again. P.S any vesrah springs out there I will take them.
