I own a suzuki dr200 trojan and can't find the year it was made. When ordering new parts i am guessing the year.The only information i have is the vin number which is js1sh42b000505118. can anyone tell me the year it was made. cheers

I own a suzuki dr200 trojan and can't find the year it was made. When ordering new parts i am guessing the year.The only information i have is the vin number which is js1sh42b000505118. can anyone tell me the year it was made. cheers
J= Japan
S= Suzuki
1= motorcycle
S= off road
H= 150cc-199cc motor
4= 4 stroke
2= design sequence (second version of this engine)
B= specific model variation or sub-model of the bike
0= check digit (specific to the year so ti lets officials see if the VIN has been modified)
0= model year. In this case, it indicates that the bike is a 1980 model. The "official" VIN year code for 1980 was an "A", but the current system was not adopted internationally until 1981, so in 1980 you sometimes find an "A" and sometimes find a "0" depending on where the bike was made and where it was destined to be sold. I'm guessing you are not in North America, which would make the '0" pretty standard for 1980.
