Suzuki jr50 shifting

My girlfriend just recently bought her son an 04 jr50. Ive noticed that when you shift it into gear it is very loud. I was just wondering if any of you other jr50 owners have any info about this. Is it normal for it to be loud when you put it into gear? Or is there a problem with it? Has anyone else experienced this problem?

The auto clutch on these things kind of bangs into gear, so what you are experiencing is probably normal. If a previous owner did the modification to unlock the shifter and make the bike a two-speed, then this problem will probably be worse unless the rider is really smooth with the throttle. Does not seem to hurt anything though- just the way the cheap clutch works.
