so my question is "does anyone know which magneto flywheels and magneto primary coils can be cross referenced and salvaged to fit my TC185?" if anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated spring semester starts soon and i need sum wheels cuz the bus takes too damn long!

Looking at the old Suzuki mircofiche, it looks like the magneti assembly for the TC185 was used only on that model, 1974-1977, and not on any others. The coil is pretty common though, and still available new for about $40. This assumed these two missing parts are the only thing wrong with it. Did you have it running before these parts walked, or did you buy it on someone's word that it ran fine except for the missing parts?

I am really curious though- Can you even register and drive a 2-stroke motorcycle on the streets in California these days? I thought they outlawed them except for off-road use only? Or is there in excemption for pre-1980 models?

I have no source for the flywheel. I did a little research, and while you can not register a new 2-stroke in California, if the bike has a clean title and was previously registered in California as a street legal bike it is grandfathered in, so you can still put a plate on it. If it was last registered in another state, you can not.

Exactly which part are you looking for? You call it a magneto flywheel, but the TC185 technically had a generator. Are you calling a generator part the magneto flywheel? You sure its not a TS185? There is a TC185 flywheel on Ebay right now for $40.
