Whining after lowering.
I have a 2007 JP and just installed the whitchdoctor 1.25 inch lowering links. I moved the wiring harness to the frame and adjusted the shock preload. However I now get a steady whining sound when riding. Louder when going faster and it quiets when slowing down, but it is a steady whine. Any thoughts at waht may cause this?

Belt rubbing on the pulley gaurd?
Belt too tight and putting to much pressure on the pulley?
When we lowered my girlfriends 600RR whe had to add a little slack to the chain.

Yeah I'd be checking the belt, you sure don't want it too tight!

Thanks for the replies! I found the issue but I have no idea how to fix it. The belt is rubbing the front pulley cover where the indentation is for the bolt. Not sure if this makes sense? Anyone else have this issue? I'm 6'3 and don't need the bike lower, just think it looks better. May go back to the stock links.

I'm an H-D guy so I don't know a lot about Vics but I'm guessing the top of the belt is touching?
Can you pull the cover and grind away any material without getting into the bolt hole?
It might not take very much.
I had to do something like that on a Sportster years ago,it was chain-drive but I went to a bigger trans sprocket to raise the gearing and had to remove some material for chain clearance.

Thanks! I think your idea is worth a shot!

If you do it make sure you polish off any residual burrs or sharp edges that might damage your belt should it make contact.

I know exactally what you are describing, how many bolts hold the cover on? Would there be enough to cut that mount out and still be secure? If there are two or more other bolts I would cut it back until it clears and install with some "mild" threadlock on the remaining bolts. Just an idea.
by the way, any pics of this monster?
