Oil filter relocation kit problem, help please!
Hi all,
I just got and tried to install the Barons oil filter relocation kit myself.
Im good usually with working with my hands, but this issue got me frustrated and i just cannot figure out how to resolve it...
I placed the part that holds the oil filter where it should be but theres no room there for it to fit properly unless i take off the rear brake reservoir.
If i take off the rear brake reservoir where should i relocate it to?
Any ideas how to solve this issue would be highly appreciated!
Thanks so much in advance
Z
p.s. - i got 2004 V Star 1100 Classic

i gave up and let the mechanic do his job on this one
I put the oil filter relocation kit and let me tell you guys this is one of the things and you shouldnt deal with unless you got the right equipment otherwise although in the manufacturers videos and instructions they say it takes only 20 minutes to install, this installation process will totally drain and frustrate you.
I dont know why after i put it all back and turned on the bike the see how much oil i should keep on putting it was all bad and made a nice puddle of oil, but that was the point where i told myself "ok, i tried and maybe the mechanic knows something i dont know about this". Turned out that he only added some sort of substance to seal it tighter. Thats all.
But still i feel it was a good idea to let him deal with it because i was totally frustrated at that point when i saw the oil puddle under my bike.
I agree with the mechanic when he said that he learned how to deal with bikes be breaking and trying to fix his friends bikes.
Ive learned there some things you just shouldnt do and let the mechanic deal with it even if they look easy
p.s. - about the rear brake reservoir - he bent it a bit to make more room in that area, Not sure its the perfect way, but so far it works.
