Stryker with Cobra Swept Exhaust and Cobra Fi2000

I recently purchased the Cobra Swept exhaust and the Cobra Fi2000 Fuel Management System for my 2011 Yamaha Stryker. I had a Yamaha dealership close to home do the install.....but I do have a concern.....

I noticed now that I get some backfire or popping when I let off of the throttle on 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gear. I read the manual that came with the Fi2000 and saw that the default settings for the Stryker with a full Cobra exhaust are: (green led pod at 2, the yellow led pod at 5, and the red led pod at 5) in other words 2-5-5. I looked at the settings now and the dealership set them as 6-5-5....but again I still have some popping when I let off the throttle.

If the default settings for the bike with a full exhaust are at 2-5-5 does having it at 6,5,5 mean something else might be wrong?

My question is should I continue to tweak the "green led pod" to try and get rid of the popping? Or should I take it back to where I had it installed?

Obvioulsy I am new to the forum and new to bikes which is why I didn't to the work myself, I do plan on learning and doing most of the work myself in the future and I am sure a forum like this would really help.

Thanks in advance to anyone that reads and has any tips or info for me on this subject.

have you tried the cobra recommended settings of 2-5-5? it could just be the dealership not bothering to read the manual.

Hey slozomby thanks for replying and....

....yes I tried the recommended settings of 2-5-5 this morning and 1st gear was awful. It kept jerking back and forth like it wanted to cut off and popping like crazy. I was on my way to work so I just put it back to the dealership settings of 6-5-5 but still had the backfire or popping when I let off the throttle. I emailed Cobra to see what they have to say but I have not heard back yet.

no everything else is stock, the only thing I have had done is the Cobra Exhaust along with the Cobra Fi2000...which is why I thought the 2-5-5 settings would fix my problem

The jerking sounds like a problem but as far as the popping goes... sometimes with aftermarket exhausts it is inevitable. You can minimize it but never totally get rid of it. On my m50 i got i my powercommander on a custom dyno'd map and it still pops every so often in 3rd.
