02 vstar classic dead front cylinder

    02 vstar classic dead front cylinder

    I have a 02 v star classic with a dead front cylinder.It has spark,compression,fuel.any hints would be appriciated,thanks

    Spark and compression are relatively easy to verify; gas INTO the cylinder, not so easy.
    If a little squirt of carb cleaner or starting fluid into that intake brings it back to life momentarily, then you have a gummed carb problem........or an injector problem.

    If it has carbs......and seems to come to life at ANY engine speed......then a float bowl draining and healthy shot of B12 might work out the problem. If it's fuel injected, a shop can test the injector and maybe even clean it.

    Most of us shade-tree mechanics can't do much with FI.

    Replace the spark plugs, these motors like to foul plugs, I always carried a spare plug on mine
