    Cool S83 Battery

I had my S83 two months and the battery that came with it went bad. The arizona heat is hard on Batteries but I think this was an exception.

I bought a used 2005 S83 a couple of months ago. The previous owner had the bike for 11 months. Dealer told me it still had the original battery. I've had no trouble with it so far.

That's a question there really is no good answer to. There are a lot of things that can lengthen or shorten a battery's life, including how often you ride the bike, what accessories you have installed, what tyoe of riding you do, what climat you live in, where the bike is parked, what season of the year if is, what brand battery you have...I've seen batteries last 1 year and die when the bike was parked over the winter, and I've seen them last over 5 years in bikes driven year round.

    Thanks!

Is it true that a trickle charger can lengthen the life of the battery and where can you purchase one?

Yes, a trickle charger will help a lot if the bike sits between uses or over the winter. You can get one from any motorcycle accessory website, like J&P Cycles, Cruisercustomizing, JC Whitney, or even your local auto parts store.
