    Suzuki Boulevard C50

I noticed that the '07's have a fuel gauge. Is that new for this year? Do the '06's have a warning light/ reserve tank?

    Thanks

The 07's have fuel gauge...it's kind of obvious on the cluster.

I have a low fuel light on the bike I own.

Thanks. Is there a reserve tank or just a warning of low fuel?

    There ain't no reserve...
According to the owners manual there are different blinks for lower fuel levels.
I dunno what those are though.

So I far get about 145 miles on the odo before the light starts blinking.

I'm thinking about getting an '06 C50. Have you been happy with yours? Would you buy it again?

First the low fuel light will blink. Go off for a while then start blinking again. Then when lower will stay on continually. I usually set my trip metre at every fill & go by that. Much more accurate than that light.

As for buying a c50 again I probably wouldn't. It's been a while (25 years) since last riding but it seems I still like those corners. The c50 scrapes too easily but that is something that all cruisers do, so I've heard. Next I will be looking at a sports/tourer.
    I hate the countdown!

I would buy again, yet I would do a larger engine bike...

I want to ride this 50 for two seasons then go "heavy" for some real touring.

The C-50 is one awesome package though.
I have no problem with get-a-way when needed.

Keep in mind this is a medium heavy 2 wheeler.
It needs to keep moving to minimize dumping it...

    My experinece so far;
Wear a helmet, long pants and boots!
This bike likes first gear (7 mph) for u-turns)
This bike is managable in slow traffic as long as you keep your distance (35 feet or more from the vehicle)...to hell with the minivan behind you in gridlock\slow situations don't be intimidated by them (If possible you can instruct tailgaters about following to closely ("I do it all the time").
Be sure to front brake first then 1\4 second later engage the rear brake.
Don't be afraid to get good at balancing the bike!, just be prepared to stop with left shoe down (I always glance down to see what I'm stepping in before I gain footing at the stop.)
Always signal turns (it is good practice so you'll remember to cancel the signal during the turn like a car),.

...and above all (this will save your life) never do rolling stops on a bike!
Always....always do a full stop at all instances requiring a stop!
Look left, look right, look left again(...deep breath ""make your decision"), this is what I do!

Whatever you do...do not die while enjoying yourself!

My theft deterrent is that I would beat the living S**t out of anyone who touches it!.

I am of Calabrian descent, and everyone in my area knows it.
I have had a few charges for assault, and locals know to leave me, my stuff, and my family alone.

Of course it helps that a few 'patched' members from my past come to visit from time to time. They are highly visible.

Of course, it is also insured, so ... whatever.

I am happy with mine and after 10,500 or so miles in 12 months I am thinking of moving up. Probably to a Harley Electra Glide Classic or a Gold Wing. I would not buy a Suzuki again. The reason for that is it is a conglomarate that makes all kinds of things. Cars, marine power plants, motorcycles and God knows what else. {I know Honda does also but Honda Corprate is much more polished and sofiticated.} Also it is a little harsh on the bumps but that is from its lack of weight. Don't get me wrong it is a nice machine. They do things that are a little weird from and engineering stand point. Its the little things, like helmet locks in funny places like under the saddlebags so they can't be used. Cut outs so you can see the water level on the radiator expansion tank that you can't see any way and must remove the cover. Owners manual that gives bogus shifting points. Just not thought out on some stuff.
