    odometer/trip buttons dont work

05 M50 13,000 miles, the odometer works fine but the buttons that switch between trip meters and clock don't do anything when pressed. Anyone else have this trouble; and any luck on fixing it?

Usually, if it isnt holding them long enough, its due to the button contact being worn...and is not usually easily fixed...bit like a TV remote that doesnt always respond to buttons being pressed. It could be some crud trapped between the button and the contact pad...hopefully.
Smoke me a kipper I'll be home in time for breakfast

You only need to hold it down when zeroing the trip meters, otherwise just a firm button press should switch between meters. I haven't had any issues with mine, got 36k miles on it now.
Service manual says if the odo/trip meters/speedo don't work properly, check the speed sensor and connections. If sensor and connections are good, then replace unit.
