suzuki boulevard m50 horrible nosies??? help!!! please :)

    HI

So i just brought a bike!!!! about a week or so ago, 2007 suzuki boulevard m50 and its been going great!!!!
ive done a about 200k's on it so far. was driving home from work yesterday on the highway and it started making these horrible nosies, decided to pull off and on the exit ramp and it stalled and would not start again......it was like the battery was dead?

Got it towed home, put battery on charge overnight, put it back this morning, started but very noisy and died about 10sec later and would not start again, like the battery was dead, push the start button the screen goes blank and a high pitch noise i think coming from the fuel pump.

Put the battery back on charge (I've had it load tested now its ok) and we finally got it to run but still very hard to start, very noisy and stalled very easy. ive uploaded a video to youtube
if anybody could shed some light or ideas
    thanks in advance Mathew

    Welcome to the forum.

I am really sorry for your problems.

The reality is, however, that NOBODY can give you any meaningful help in a forum like this because there are too many possibilities.

About your only practical option at this point is to have it towed/hauled to a shop for professional advice.......unless you can find a mechanic who will come to you.

Did you check the oil level.......ever ??

OK but did you check the oil level again AFTER the change.....a day or two or three later ??

All I can get from the video is:
It sounds like it's running on only one cylinder.
Hopefully it's something simple like a loose plug wire or a bad plug.

P.S. I know that for a new rider it sounds really BAD......but it probably really isn't.

There are multiple possibilities, if you can afford to have a mechanic go through the bike, then that might be best. If you want to work on it yourself, here is a link to the service manual.
First, are you checking the oil with the bike on the side stand or with the bike level? If the oil is at the high mark when on the side stand, then you are over full.
2nd, when you turn the key to the on position, are you letting the speedo complete it's self test before starting? If you try to start it too fast, the ECU does funky things sometimes and the bike doesn't run well.
3rd, If the battery isn't holding a charge, it could be bad, or your rectifier could be bad. You'll need a multimeter to test it. Start with a fully charged battery, test voltage, should be around 12.5, start bike, test voltage again, should rise to about 14.1. if the voltage doesn't rise, then your rectifier is bad.
Your engine sounds a little odd while running but not horrible, mine sounds like that too if I run with some bad gas or start it too soon.
I have the 2005 model so I'm a little familiar with this bike, but not a wrencher so take that for what it's worth.
How many km does the bike have now?

Good list of tests and good call on the shop visit.
If there is a cross-over, both pipes can get hot from just one cylinder.

The best course of action in this kind of situation depends on your personal situation.

I would be looking for a new bike and plan on selling that one for parts.
Sometimes a fix for major engine problems like that ends up costing more than a new (used) bike.

    P.S. What is a "big end" ??

You may be right but you should NOT guess.
You should ASK if you don't know for sure.

A crankshaft bearing will make noise but shouldn't affect performance much if any......until it gets REAL bad.

A con rod has two bearings, one at either end. The top end bearing is smaller and goes on the piston gudgeon pin. The bottom end has a bigger bearing and that goes on the crankshaft - that's the "big end", what do you call it in the States?
