C109RT lost gears as I was riding

I have a 2009 C109RT and just turned 6500 miles on it. My wife and I were riding today and as I took off from a stop sign, I started to shift to 2nd gear. it went into Neutral and that was that. It is now in Neutral and will not shift into any gear. The heal / toe shifter is loose like it lost the pin or something that connects it to the transmission. While we were riding, there was a few times I had trouble shifting to second, but once I got to second the other gears were fine. I thought it was just me missing the heal shifter as it is almost level with the floor board. I have not had time to tear it apart yet. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Lets hope it is simply a clevis pin/bolt lost from the shift lever. If the lever moves around the shaft its fitted to then you're in luck. Otherwise it may be an eternal shift pawl system similar to the Suzuki Bandit 1200...if not that then a bent selector fork will probably be the culprit.

    Good luck

I tore into it this morning. The Linkage rod was just laying there not connected to either the shift lever or the transmission side!! I reconnected it with some lock-tite and made sure the nut was also locked against the connector. Back in Business Glad that was all it was, It seems like I have had one small problem after another since I bought this bike in May 2016

Keep in mind that a few small problems is much better than one huge problem.
