    Wont idle need help!

Hello everyone. New to this forum. I purchased a 08 Suzuki boulevard m50 about a month ago that needed new cam chain tensioners and a new cam chain. The bike ran perfect other than that. I replaced both tensioners and the chain, put everything back together and now the bike wont idle. Tried the idle screw but it maxes out and still wont stay running. Running out of ideas.

There might be a vacuum leak around the intake now.

Are you running it with ALL of the stock parts in place, especially the air box and filter ?

Will it idle (better) if you leave the choke partly closed ??

Which idle screw are you turning......the mechanical idle speed stop or the carb idle air mixture ??

It is possible that you got the cam chain one tooth off too I guess.

All stock. I was turning the idle screw with the large round head that you can turn with your fingers or a flathead screwdriver. Not sure how to run it with the choke partly closed.

Does that model have carb's and a choke......or is it fuel injected ??

Either way, inspect the idle adjustment screw and be sure that the other end is actually touching something, usually a lever.
Then be sure that mechanism is all connected and moving something all the way up to the throttle body.
It should be slightly moving the same mechanism that the throttle moves when you twist it.

I would tend to agree if there are no air leaks. One tooth off wouldnt necesserilly cause valve interference with the pistons...esp in a cruiser engine. Maybe check fuel lines are not crimped and flow is OK.
Smoke me a kipper I'll be home in time for breakfast
