    1995 kawasaki vulcan 1500

As the title suggets, I have found a Vulcan 1500 for sale.

The bike has a whopping 14,000 miles on it and the price is $2995.

KBB says it's worth about that - providing that it has about triple the mileage on it.

What is wrong/unusual/quirky about this bike?

Did a bit of digging and the commentary was "front brake tends to fade, the handling isn't all that great on twisties.........." and the usual remarks from somebody used to riding something more cbr/gsxr oriented.

I understand the bike is closing in on 15 yearls old, but the bike was nearly 10 grand when new.

Although the bike does not have a fairing, saddlebags or a trunk (mounted on a rear rack) so it is pretty much stripped for this kind of bike.

Couldn't put "fail" across Lolo's picture, but she did come in 4th in the 100 m hurdles - still one heck of an effort.

I can only say that the current Vulcan 1500 I have is a great ride...strong and responsive. I am told the engine is not much changed for a long time.
I think it corners well for a cruiser... at least as well as my C50 did.....
If you are tall, you might feel a bit cramped as I do... yeah as the posture is a bit upright. If they would negotiate at all it sounds like a deal to me.

I could resell such a bike to about 5 people at work who have drooled over mine but dont want to pay much...

The 1995 Vulcan 1500 is rather different from more current models. It was a large, powerful, but otherwise unremarkable bike that went for about $8100 new. It has only a 4 speed transmission, and the suspension and brakes are not nearly as good as laater models. I really like the post-2000 Vulcan 1500, but do not care for the 1995 model.

asking the foolish question, not anything that can be done about either the suspension or the brakes?

the 4 speed transmission would indicate that the engine gets pretty wound up on the freeway?

'cause around here, freeway speeds rarely exceed 75 mph as the cops are bound and determined to save us from ourselves.

You are so right, I read once that Wis. has more State Patrol employees than any other state. I don't know if it's true, but it sure seems that way. Southern Wis. is a nightmare for speeders.

    I will clue you in a bit;

when you go into Kenosha County (just across the state line) expect a mounty to be waiting there to nail you for speeding.

    10 over will do.

as things are headed, the state patrol is being phased out, so now every barny fife from every little mayberry can have their ass on patrol on the highway going through their burg.

    looking forward to the future.
