    Horn problem

Newbie here, thanks in advance for any help on this:

The horn on my Honda CB1 is operating at less than half volume and sounds very anemic.
Multimeter says it is getting 11.4 volts when I hit the horn button.
Is the slightly low voltage enough to cause this problem or is it likely that there is some other problem also?

granted that is lower voltage. you could try giving it direct 12v. but i think it has reached the end of its life.

I forgot to mention that I already bought a new horn and installed it and it sounds exactly as bad as the old one.

ahh... well bower it directly with 12v. if it sounds right.. charge your battery. clean the ground for the horn.

Horn button may need looking at...often they ground via the handlebar mount and if it is dirty/corroded resistance will cause problems.
Smoke me a kipper I'll be home in time for breakfast
