Hi All, I own a 2007 Stratoliner S. There is not a lot of high performance parts out there for the BIG 113 CID V-twin. This drove me to make an intake shim kit to help my bike breath better. The shim kit is high quality and can gain you up to 5 HP and Tq with the right stuff. Pretty much right in line with the more expensive BAK's you can buy or make yourself. The big difference is i utilize the stock air box so all the stock componets will still work. all vacuum lines, positive crankcase ventilation, and air flow sensors will still be hooked up and working. you don't need to buy a fuel proccesor as long as all the vacuum lines and the O2 sensor is still installed and working. you can install this with the next filter maintenance you do.
it WON'T ruin any stock components.
you DON'T need to tear your bike a part to install it.
you DON'T need to buy a 300.00 dollar fuel processor to make it work properly.
you DON'T need to drain the bank to buy it.
you can look at it HERE as i can't post a picture. i sell these kits for 74.00 which includes the shipping.
I just wanted to let everyone know there is a cost effective alternative to buying a BAK. This shim kit will increase the stock inlets about 35% which is a huge increase in air flow. All the stock parts yamaha made for this bike are top of the line design so why take them out and install a BAK when you can just take advantage of the stock design. the stock design does a great job of directing the air stream and keeps the velocity up which increases torque. Adding the shim will let the intake system breath to its fullest potential and it will do a far better job of controlling the air flow compared to a BAK which will allow the air to dump in to the throttle bodies which slows the air velocity which will lose torque at slow engine speeds. if all you are looking for is WOT performance then a BAK is what you need. If you are looking for almost the same performance as a POD filter system, Want to keep everything as bullet proof as possible, want to keep the stock design so the bike will run correctly, wish to save some of your hard earned money and not ruin a single stock component, then this is the ticket for you.
