does anybody use the heel part of the heel toe shifter?

I started using the heel shifter when i first got the bike, but i havent used it lately. When i first got the bike i thought that it was great. But i've since fallen out of love with it. Just wondering if anyone uses it. The only good thing about it was it didnt scuff up the top of my boot.

the only time I use it is to put the bike into neutral after I've driven into the garage.

Never had a bike with the heel shifter but over the last 1900 miles of shifting I don't know I could do without one. Now when I ride my wheeler I'm searching for the heel shifter.LOL

I only use the heel shifter for upshifting. That's it. I do use the toe shifter for downshifting, I haven't upshifted with my toe since I sold my Concours...

I love it, and along with fuel injection the heel-toe shifter is on my list of must have features.

Maybe a dumb question, but can you down shift on a heel shifter?? I thought only downshifting can be done on the toe shifter?

To answer the orginal question I rarely use the heel shifter. I find myself using it just for the amusement of stomping down to shift up

I use the heel shifter only and love it. When you've got your foot resting comfortably on the floorboard it's only natural to use it.

There's no such thing as a dumb question... although there does sometimes seem to be an awful lot of inquisitive idiots No, I don't see how it would be possible to downshift with the heel part unless you rigged something to attach it to your heel (which just doesn't seem like it would be to smart an idea).

I've upshifted with my toe maybe half a dozen times since buying my C50 a over a year and a half ago. Love that heel-toe shifter and can't imagine going back.

Love the heel/toe! I wasn't sure if I would, but after just a few rides, it got to be second nature.

I to love the heel-toe shifter. There is no way my size 12 Wolverines would fit under the shifter for upshifting. In fact the boots barely fit on the floorboars.

I didn't think I would like it or get used to it at first, but it grew on me and now I use it all the time.

I use mine all the time. It is like floor boards, at first they are weird, but I don't think I would want to be without them now. Give it time and you will most likely grow to like them.
