    VStar 950 “Clicking”

2012 VStar 950 Tour, 13K, bought new. I know how difficult it is to describe a “clicking” noise. This sounds like a rhythmic metal-on-metal sound only while moving usually with clutch disengaged. Sound seems to originate from front of engine or from front wheel. Thought the disc pads were rattling but I’m sure that’s not the problem. Bike runs normal & strong. Any & all suggestions are appreciated.

    Rock in front tire ??

You need a THOROUGH inspection of all of the front end hardware.

How exactly are you sure that something in the brakes is NOT the problem ?

If it was a car, I'd suggest a rock inside a hubcap.......but not likely that applies here.
Don't believe everything that you think.

Yes, the clicking slows when the bike slows w/motor running.

I got a sheetmetal screw stuck in a tire once, it clicked whenever I turned left because it was in the left side of the tread. That's something you might check for.
