new rider 01 suzuki vz800

Going thru the MSS right now to fine tune my riding skills. Bought a 2001 Marauder as my starter Bike. Looking for tips on how to ride & Maintain her. Any suggestion are welcome. 1st time on a bike ever.... Need your Wisdom......;)
