i just picked up my black '04 gsxr 600 and I'm lookin forward to puttin some exhaust on it and doin some other mods to it. Whats the best website to check out different types of mods? Thanks i appreciate any help. These new Gixxers are incredible.

I just got a new blue/white gsxr-600 about 5 weeks ago and these things are great. My brother in law works in a parts department at a bike shop. I'll see what info I can find out for you.

Aside from that its all about what you want from the bike. Do you want looks, power, streetability, or just a track bike. Need to make that decision before you start getting into heavy mods or you will end up wasting a LOT of money. If all you want out of exhaust is to change the sound then get a slip on, if you want weight reduction plus a small hp increase, then get a full system.

I was considering a slip-on (gixxer.com ruffin links is the best to look around). I didnt want to sink all this money into a power commander and getting it dyno'ed and blah blah blah. I discussed this with a couple people and they said that the bikes are blasted to the hilt with the stock parts on it, and any mods would throw off the mixtures and ratios. I decided to sink them money into cosmetics. When I build up the "bike fund" again, I will get a full exahust, the performance air filter, and get the whole bike remapped with a power commander. They suggest that you do all three things at once.

Call me a cheapskate, but all I'm going to do is add a K&N air filter, and a Yoshimura RS-3 slip-on pipe. That will add the tiniest bit of horsepower, but give it a much better sound than the stock pipe.

I just installed mine a few days ago... I will say this, does your bike need it, no. But if you have money laying around its a cool mod to have with after market exhaust.

I have a Black 2004 GSXR...I just bolted on a RS3 Yosh....IT IS AWESOME!! Deep throaty sound!! Kicks ass!!!!
